There are so many unique destinations in the world that many travelers rarely revisit the same place over and over. However, there are always those few places that stay with you and practically beg you to revisit. Here are 7 places in the world I would revisit, and gladly do so!

The Galápagos Islands, Ecuador

I loved seeing the giant Galápagos Tortoises in Puerto Ayora!

I visited Puerto Ayora in 2019 but did not have the time to truly visit many of the other islands around the Galápagos. I am looking forward to revisiting and getting to know the other islands, especially since each island has its own unique wildlife and ecosystem!

Seville, Spain

The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See in Seville

While visiting Spain in 2019, my trip took an unexpected turn. What was once a girls’ trip quickly turned into my very first solo trip when things turned sour. After making some last-minute changes to my itinerary, I decided to visit Seville. I’m so glad I did!

Between the stunning architecture, delicious food, and incredible history in the city, I immediately fell in love. I’m very excited to revisit Seville in the future! (I still crave that fresh orange juice every day).

Lisbon, Portugal

The famous Praca do Comercio in Lisbon

Lisbon was another last-minute decision on that trip in early 2019. However, it quickly became my favorite city of all time! Portugal is so often overlooked as far as West European countries go, but it is my favorite so far. With beautiful architecture, incredible food, friendly people, and affordable prices, you really can’t beat it! Lisbon definitely had a more laid-back city feel to it and I was disappointed when I had to leave.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Getting close with a rescued elephant in Chiang Mai, Thailand

The first time I visited Chiang Mai was during a veterinary internship in and around the city. While I got to sightsee on the weekends, I definitely didn’t get my fill of this destination. Chiang Mai is famous for elephants, street markets, and being the perfect place for remote workers to stay. I hope to visit Chiang Mai (and the rest of Thailand) in the summer of 2023!

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

I was lucky enough to have an overnight layover in Amsterdam on my way home from Italy in 2019. While it was definitely NOT enough time to see everything I wanted to, it made me want to go back that much more. I got to experience Amsterdam’s nightlife (and the famous red-light district), but I would love to see some of the art museums, visit Anne Frank’s home, and see the stunning tulip fields in the area.

Rome, Italy

The famous Colosseum in Rome

There is so much to do in Rome that I barely scratched the surface during my short time there. I was able to visit the major attractions and had some incredible meals, but I hope to explore the underground catacombs and get an in-depth tour of the Colosseum in the future. Of course, I wouldn’t say no to another 5-star meal and as much gelato as I can get!

Baños, Ecuador

The swing at the end of the world in Baños, Ecuador

Even though I spent a solid month in Ecuador, the one city I felt I didn’t spend enough time in was Baños. The city is built for adventurous travelers! While I did get to take an Amazon tour and go bridge jumping, I was bummed I had to skip rock climbing, parasailing, and other adventurous activities for time.

Do you have any destinations you would love to revisit again in the future? Let me know in the comments!
