Hi, I’m Stacia! Welcome to Stumble Safari!

Since 2018, I have been a travel blogger, educating other travelers about the positives and negatives of animal tourism around the world. As someone with a background in veterinary medicine, animal behavior, and research, I have a lot to contribute!

Deciding to put a giant pause on Veterinary School after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Biopsychology in order to travel was the best idea I ever had. My family disagreed, and were horrified at the sudden pause in my education. I decided, quite firmly, that I did not want to follow that well-trodden path of spending the entirety of my twenties drowning in laborious schoolwork.

An exciting shift as a veterinary assistant…I helped deliver puppies!

Instead, I wanted to fill my diary (and resume) with stories of fascinating places, beautiful animals, ancient ruins, and skills I could only learn away from my comfort zone. I also wanted to encourage others around me to travel as far and as often as possible in a positive way!

How did I get here?

My first trip abroad was when I was a senior in high school to volunteer at an orphanage in Haiti. That trip was a roller coaster of emotion, both good and bad. I did not exactly have the best impression of travel after that trip. This was mostly due to the people I had decided to travel with.

During my junior year of college, I decided to give international travel another shot. I was accepted into a veterinary internship in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Getting to work with elephants medically was a dream come true! That trip changed my life, and my entire outlook on international travel; I booked another trip for later that year as soon as I returned home!

And Now, a Podcast!

In 2021 I launched my podcast Humane Nature where I discuss the nitty-gritty of animal tourism worldwide, as well as notable destinations and wildlife warriors we should all know.

Travel, Work, Repeat

When I’m not working on this blog and podcast, you can usually find me bartending, playing with my furbabies, or baking in my kitchen. I love, love, LOVE creating incredible travel itineraries not only for myself but for other travelers as well.

Through this blog and podcast, I hope to share my passion for travel, animals, and adventure. Through Stumble Safari and Humane Nature, I hope to express myself in order to encourage at least one reader to go after their travel dreams, help animals and the environment, and let go of that fear holding them back, whatever that fear may be.

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
