Courses
I took Nomadic Matt’s course, and absolutely loved it! If you are interested in starting a travel blog of your own, check out his course offerings here.
For all bloggers, including bloggers in other niches than travel, I took multiple courses from Boss Girl Bloggers. They truly changed my social media and affiliate marketing game, and I highly recommend them! You can find the different courses here.
Newsletter Services
I use Mailchimp for my newsletters and emails to my subscribers. Mailchimp is an excellent company for those just starting out, as it is free for your first 2,000 subscribers with basic email design. Try it free here!
Web Hosting
To run a self-hosted blog (which is what you want!), you need a web hosting service. I use HostGator, as it is very user friendly for beginners and offers affordable packages. I’ve also had very good experiences with their customer service! Sign up here to get a FREE domain for a year!
Photo Editing and Graphic Design
I use Canva to design Pinterest pins and blog buttons that you see throughout this website. Try Canva Pro for free here!
For free photo editing, I use Fotor. There is a free and pro version, but the free version works fine for me!
Social Media
Scheduling social media is a major part of successful blogging. Tweetdeck is a free resource to schedule Twitter posts. Facebook has a built-in scheduling system for business pages. I use Tailwind to schedule posts for Pinterest and Instagram! Try it free here.
Income on the Go
I teach English with VIPKID, GogoKid, and Cambly and am able to do so while traveling. Apply to VIPKID, GogoKid, or Cambly for income on the go! For more information, feel free to email me, or check this post!
I have also begun teaching various topics on Outschool outside of English as a Second Language. Learn more about Outschool!
I also petsit frequently to earn some extra income. I do this through Rover, available in the US only. To become a sitter on Rover, click here. For more information, feel free to email me!
Taxes
Unfortunately, taxes get REALLY complicated when you’re self-employed and own your own business. I use Turbotax to help me complete, file, and pay my annual taxes as a business owner. They make it super easy, and you can work one on one with an accountant who can help you online! Try it FREE here!
International Cell Service
After traveling for awhile, I started racking up some major phone bills from international texting and data. I did some research, and switched to T-Mobile’s international plan. They are BY FAR the most affordable with unlimited free texting and data, but I also get a hotspot to do blog work with spotty wifi signal. I highly recommend them to anyone who will need their phone while traveling abroad often.
